This week, we hear from Pastor Brad as he shares his favorite bible story.  Found in 2 Kings, we see the story of Naaman and how God used a little girl from Israel, the King of Israel, and Elisha to heal Naaman both physically and spiritually. Our big truth is that God’s salvation is for everyone. Everyone who realizes that they need it and that they can’t earn it. Everyone who humbly submits to God’s way. Everyone in whom God produces new life, and it is for everyone, while using willing nobodies.  God used a young girl who displays grace, in a foreshadowing of Jesus’ forgiveness, to forgive Naaman and share a message from God with Naaman. 

Praise God that He uses broken, messy nobodies like us to get his message to others around us. 

Be thinking of your “one” as we continue in the year, and who you might be in prayer for daily, for opportunities to share the gospel with.

This week, Pastor Brad opens up the word to one of his favorite passages: 1 Thessalonians 2:3-12. This is a passage that the Lord has used to shape him in ministry, and he shares with us how God calls us to live in a worthy manner in light of his kingdom and glory, by being transparent, caring for others, being of the same character in public and in private, and calling others around us to live in the calling that God has called them to.  

Brad challenges us to use these principles as a guide for our lives. If you’re not already, what would it look like to make these principles YOUR guide? It is hard, but it is GOOD. This is what you were made for, and the life that God has called you to.

We are nearing the end of this letter from Paul, and he is making some statements about his friends… We can see from some of Paul’s final written words that he knows our big truth today. God’s mission is carried out through purposeful friendships.  Paul's list of friends runs as follows: 

Demis, the deserting friend.

Titus, the troubleshooting friend. 

Luke, the faithful friend.

Mark, the second-chance friend.

Tychicus, the serving friend. 

Which friend are you, and how can you be better??
How will you grow closer to your friend Jesus this week?

As we jump back into the book of 2 Timothy, Pastor Brad shares that offering our lives as an act of worship to God is the most rewarding way to live. But now, how are we to run the race set before us as we live a life of worship?  We train, and then, as Paul says, “I fought the good fight,” we engage!  Do not be fearful to train, and then engage in the battle.   As we engage, we need to be sure to choose the right fight!  Not every fight is a good fight. “Is what I am engaging in making progress in the Kingdom of God, making me more like Jesus, promoting good around the world?” Choose the right fight! Don’t give up. Endure to the end, run like you’re trying to WIN … finish your race well. Endure to the end, and remember the trailblazer - Christ has gone before us and is waiting there! Ask yourself these questions this week:  Is my life is an act of worship to God?  Where do I need to give my focus? Training, Engaging, Choosing, Enduring? Do I really love Jesus?
