In the most basic of terms, the cross is death. A crucifixion was brutal. (Romans 5:8): “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” This is the idea of grace. Jesus relentlessly pursuing you even when you are at your worst. A case study for this is in Luke 23:32-43. The thief on the cross. The cross is where the justice of God intersects with the love of God. Everyone is guilty, but anyone can be saved.
