In this episode of Serving Jesus Christ, Pastor Swanson shares an inspirational Sunday Message titled,
In The Beginning God!
Why is the study of Genesis so important?
On face value. . . Genesis means origin.
So. . . Genesis provides us with a picture of God along with the evidence of our origins and the beginning story of man. Without the study of and the understanding of Genesis. . . life is meaningless.
Sadly. . . many in the world and even some evangelicals have taken the position that the Genesis account of beginnings is theological fiction. . . that it is not a literal account of the how it all began.
Ever since biblical times, there have been those who have militated against any notion of a god or higher power being the agent and creator of all that we see.
Creation shouts out the eternal power of God. Man is without excuse. . . has no defense for rejecting the truth of God within creation.
The opening words of the Bible are meant to assure all of creation that we are not the product of chance. . . such things as the Big Bang and Evolution. Rather that we exist due to the mind and intent of an eternal unchangeable God.
