In today’s reading of Tyndale’s OYCSB (with featured content written by the CBT team), 

God responds to David's sin concerning Uriah the Hittite by removing the hedge of protection around his servant. David is no longer guarded by the protection of wisdom from the Lord. He becomes a passive leader--willing to claim the honor others have earned and no longer zealous to administer justice from the Lord's hand. 

David's passivity costs him, his family, and all of Israel.
