It’s a sad fact in doing research for these cases that facts about the victims get lost along the way. Countless reports from newspapers will detail the lives of killers, rapists, thieves, and con artists, while rarely – if ever – finding the space to tell us about the people who they hurt. The breadth of information available narrows even further when we go back even 20 years – before social media, viral campaigns for recognition, or lesser-known documentarians who care enough to hear the victims’ stories.
