James 3:1-12 We need to cultivate discipline in ourselves by submitting to the control of the Holy Spirit so we can use our speech for the glory of God.

James 2:14-26 True saving faith that embraces Jesus produces obedience to the royal Law of love.

James 2:1-13 As believers, we are to love God with all of our hearts and love our neighbors as ourselves. This means that we view people through the eyes of love instead of selfishness, thinking about how we can serve them and encourage them in their relationship with God.

James 1:21-27 James provides some practical instruction for how Christ followers are to think and act as they continue through a life fraught with trials.

James 1:16-20 God is an amazing gift giver, and He brings all things for good whether they are desirable or not. Our response to these gifts is a reflection of our satisfaction with God's providence.

James 1:12-15 Slides The difficult trials that God brings us through are meant to draw us to greater endurance, not to tempt us toward sin. There are two ways for an individual to respond to these trials: the response of faith through persevering, and the response of unbelief through sinning.
