The grace of God, which is unconditional, leads to real relationship, freedom, and hope.

Peter's two exhortations near the end of his letter remind dispersed believers that to live in this world but not of it requires us to be sober and watchful.

God is beyond you...doesn't need you...you don't have anything to offer at the table AND YET He loves you beyond measure...based upon no merit of your own...nothing could ever separate you from that love...He is graciously working all things for your good.

As Peter begins to land the plane in his letter you get the sense that he is giving last minute exhortations and warnings that the reader might endure. This week we see the power of oversight and humility.

Are we celebrating the resurrection for the sake of celebration or are we celebrating the resurrection because it changed everything? This sermon gives some framework through which this question can be fleshed out in your life.

What we rejoice in says a great deal about the god that we serve.
