Welcome to the second episode of Fake It Until You Make It, Dreams and Pitfalls of the Fashion Industry, a podcast aiming to take an honest look at the fashion designer career and discover how and what it means to make it in the fashion industry.
In the second episode of our season 1, Marie Schaller has invited Lexi from Studio FCLX to look back on their journey as the founder of their independent latex brand. With their work being showcased at the V&A South and their recent prize with the Institute of Digital Fashion, they will reflect on their organic growth, the collaborative and experimental nature of their practice, and their strong relationship with the London alternative scene. After 5 years of building this project, Lexi will also share about the shift that has been operating in their creative journey towards a more multidisciplinary work, experimenting with 3D printing and digital art.
This podcast is a truthful conversation on the joys and hardships of this creative journey, celebrating the strength of the creative community and acknowledging the structural issues that are intertwined with the fashion industry.
This podcast has been created by Justine Taillefer (eéditoral advice, editing and technical direction) and Marie Schaller (concept, writing and art direction). Visual identity is by Matilde Savaton and sound design by Amandine Robillard.
Thank you and wishing you an empowering listening.
