Welcome to the first episode of 'Fake It Until You Make It, Dreams and Pitfalls of the Fashion Industry', a podcast aiming to take an honest look at the fashion designer career and discover how and what it means to make it in the fashion industry.
In this pilot episode, hosted by the journalist and fashion sociologist Zoé Heller, the creator of this podcast, Marie Schaller comes back on her personal experience within the fashion industry. Starting with her fashion education in Paris at the Institut Française de la Mode, to her upbringing as an alternative creative in London working as a freelance costume and fashion designer. This podcast is a truthful conversation on the joy and hardship of this creative journey, celebrating the strength of the creative community and acknowledging the issues around privilege and mental health that are intertwined with the fashion industry.
