Join me in this episode as we delve into my journey from Prague to the United States. I share my  experience of immigrating to the U.S., navigating cultural differences, and overcoming the numerous hurdles that arose along the path to obtaining permanent residency.

In this episode,  I will offer unique insights into the challenges faced during the immigration process, from the initial decision to leave behind familiar surroundings and embark on a new chapter of life in a foreign land. In today's episode David and I talk about what is like living in NYC and visiting California after a long time! We were used to the hustle and bustle of New York City, with its towering skyscrapers, yellow taxis, and never-ending energy. But stepping into Danville, a suburban small town in California was like entering a whole new universe. Instead of honking horns and crowded sidewalks, we were greeted with wide streets and peaceful neighborhoods. Gone were the bustling delis and 24/7 bodegas; instead, we found charming mom-and-pop shops and cozy cafes. It took some getting used to, but we soon realized that life here had a slower pace, and people seemed to genuinely take the time to chat and connect. It was definitely a change, but there was something undeniably charming about this suburban haven.

In today's episode we get to sit down with the one and only Vincent Chan. Vincent is a creator helping millions of people live a wealthier and healthier life. He achieved 300,000+ organic subscribers on YouTube in 17 months, but *wait* he now has over 500,000 people subscribed to his channel and is also the founder of Daily Market Briefs, a media brand with a focus on making financial, and business news easier and quicker to understand.

We talked about how his college years were significantly important in his decision to help others live a wealthier life today.  He gave up a full-time job in banking to go into his youtube career and boy did it change his life. It was not an overnight success and in this conversation you get to learn about his strategy and sacrifices to make youtube his full time career.

Couple of Immigrants is more than a weekly show, we're a movement celebrating how powerful it is to live in a country where we there are so many different fabrics but that together make a whole. 

My name is Amada and I'm from Guatemala City, Guatemala and David is from Prague, Czech Republic. We have so much more in common that we can even understand! We got so lucky to have met in the U.S and even though we have such different journeys leaving our home countries, we can both agree that it has given us a life beyond our wildest dreams.

We didn't "escape" our countries, in this episode we talk about why we moved to the U.S and how moving to NYC has been one of the best decision we've made for so many aspects of our life. Being an immigrant can have so many different definitions but the most important to us is the stories behind this word that gets thrown around a lot! We get SO excited meeting people that inspire us and that are taking over the world to later find out they are also immigrants like us! It's the best feeling.

In this *very personal* episode we talk about our decision to wait until marriage. It has not been an easy one, but it is a choice we have made with careful consideration and shared values. We both believe that being emotionally, mentally, and spiritually ready to become parents is of utmost importance, and we see this choice as an essential step in preparing for that future.

For us, the potential side effects of birth control were a concern, and we wanted to prioritize our overall well-being. While our decision may not be the norm in today's society, we hope that by sharing our journey, we can inspire and support others who are facing the same dilemma. We believe in open and honest conversations about preparing for the time to start a family, and we encourage others to explore their own options and make decisions that align with their values and aspirations.

But most IMPORTANTLY: There really isn't a "right" time to become parents. Having a baby is such a huge blessing that regardless of when it happens we will be so grateful for it. We just wanted to include you in one of our many living room conversations about our plans for the future.
