On this episode, Tomi dives into a discussion with Steven Medd about his career as a runner and his most memorable races. Steven is coached by John Stephenson and runs for Gateshead Harriers in the North East of England.
He talks about what got him into running, how he's improved and how his passion has grown. He shares his favourite race stories, the highs and lows, filled with drama, excitement and fun.
Steven tells us about his training group and how having top athletes around him pushes him to work harder and get faster.
We talk marathons and ultramarathons going into detail into the experiences Steven's had competing - good and bad.
Steven sadly lost his mother to cancer, specifically Ocular Melanoma, in 2020. In a tribute to his mother, he aims to run the coast to coast cycle route (150 miles) in three days, raising money for charities doing their best to combat cancer.
