Argue the Toss episodes

  • IT and other things
Drew and Chella review IT, the latest Stephen King adaptation. A film that's sure to confirm everyone's fear of clowns and love of 80s kids on bikes movies. Also in this episode, the ATTeam discuss the games Heat Signature and arthouse indie Islands: Non-places. Plus, Chella recommends a new podcast from the Welcome to Night Vale team, Alice isn't Dead.

  • S3 | E19: Uncharted The Lost Legacy
Drew and Chella briefly discuss the fallout of the latest Pewdiepie disaster, before moving on to much better and brighter things. It's the Uncharted: The Lost Legacy episode, where the Argue the Toss duo discuss all things Chloe and Nadine. Uncharted without Nathan Drake? The verdict.

  • S3|E18: The Defenders Review
It's finally here - the big crossover we've been waiting on forever, ever since the first season of Daredevil dropped way, way back in... 2015? Jesus, was it really only two years ago? They've done six series in that time? That can't be... OK, well, it feels a lot longer, which is the important thing. This week, Argue The Toss is here to review Marvel's l- no, sorry, I can't get over that. That can't be right. Daredevil came out, like, forever ago. No, it's fine, I'll drop it, but... right? I'm not the only one who thinks this? Anyway, the point is, everyone's three favourite low-tier New York superheroes and Iron Fist have finally gotten together for a battle royale with the villainous Hand, whom you'll know all about if you've watched all of Daredevil S2 (maybe) and Iron Fist (probably not). After two years of build-up, how could The Defenders not be an explosive, high-octane thrillride? Well, listen and find out, 'cause spoiler alert: we spend this whole episode talking about what a disappointment it is.

  • S3|E17: Talking Tacoma and Hellblade
There's a new Argue The Toss. There's a new Argue The Toss? No there isn't. He's lying. Don't listen to him. It's about a space station. It's not JUST about a space station. Who drank the last of my milk? It's about other things too. But there's a space station in it! No there isn't. That's not an argument, you're just being contrarian. No I'm not. Seriously, who drank my milk? I was saving that. There's other things in it apart from the space station. No there aren't. Give it a rest, Barry! There's Norse mythology as well. I don't know anything about Norse mythology. What's that got to do with anything? I'm just saying, I was saving it. I wanted to have some cereal before bed and now I can't. There's space and Norse mythology and some magic portals as well. Ooh, I like magic portals. Wait, hold on, what do you mean, who drank it? We've all got the same mouth. In a week that's pretty heavy on disembodied voices, this week Argue The Toss discusses Fullbright's space exploration game (no wait, not that kind of space exploration) Tacoma, and Ninja Theory's unique Celtic/Norse psychological action-thriller (yes, really) Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Or, at least, I think they do. I may just have been hearing things.

On hearing of George A. Romero's passing this week, the nerds assembled at ATT HQ for a special episode honouring his legacy. Drew and Chella talk zombies, from Night of the Living Dead to Shaun of the Dead, Resident Evil and beyond. Jane Austen even gets a mention - all zombies are accounted for, so tune in. NB: The film Chella couldn't remember is Kiss Me Deadly

  • Baby Driver
This week the ATTeam have been to the cinema again to see Baby Driver, the new film by noted geek director Edgar Wright. Join them for a post-film discussion all about rock and roll, funk and soul, gender roles and cruise control. There are two ways to use an iPod. One way is to fill it with an amazing selection of hand-picked tracks and playlists, put your earbuds in, turn the volume right up and use it like a metronome to conduct and choreograph high-octane car chases and visceral, dynamic shootouts. The other is to listen to bi-weekly pop culture podcasts that are supposed to be about videogames but here's another film one. And out of those two options, it's easy to see which is the cooler option. Don't forget to rate us and subscribe on iTunes! Wait, are we bi-weekly or bi-monthly?

  • S3|E12: E3 2017 Best Games
E3 2O17 wasn't a show to end all shows, but the ATTeam still found something to argue about. Drew and Chella have distilled a week's worth of conferences, marketing bluster and hyperbole to create the E3 2017 definitive best games list. You can argue with us in the comments, if we've failed to mention your best games, but that's probably because they're not THE best, as determined by Argue the Toss.

  • S3|E11: Wonder Woman Review
We give up. We can't carry on any longer. God knows we've tried to stick to the brief and "argue about the things that really matter in games". You know. The thing we say at the top of every show. But here we are eleven episodes deep into season three and we've done, what, three episodes about videogames? We can't keep lying to you like this. We've altered the terms of the deal. And also we've altered the thing we say at the top of every show. We think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Or just normally surprised. Or not surprised. This week the ATTeam have been to see DC's newest offering, Wonder Woman - a film about an Amazon superhero from the mystical island of Themyscira. Listen out for us taking pains to avoid having to pronounce that name during the episode.
