Numbers 13 | In God's Word We Trust - Moses sent 12 spies into the Promised Land to see what they were up against.  The Israelites failed to trust the God who had rescued them and kept all His promises to them.  Do we trust the faithfulness of God's Word?

Isaiah 8 | The Fear of the Lord - Israel is called to fear the Lord according to the examples of Moses, Daniel, Joseph.  Years later, neither did they recognise Jesus as the Messiah, and so failed to fear and respect Him as they should have.  We too, are called to fear and respect Jesus - before it is too late.

Isaiah 11:1-9 | Unexpected Christmas Tree - From the lifeless stump of Jesse's family tree, God keeps His promise of faithfulness to King David and raises up a Shoot who will rule by His Spirit and with perfect judgement and justice forever.  Through the cross of Jesus, we can have the expectation of life forever in the perfect presence of the eternal King.

Isaiah 9:6-7 | The Son of Hope and Peace - God's people were in trouble and the message He gave them was one of Hope through the birth of a Son.  The Son is still the source of our hope and peace.

Joshua 3 | A New Start - Christmas can be an opportunity for a new start.  God gave His people many opportunities for new starts.  It is always a good time for us to leave our burdens behind and find rest in Jesus.

Isaiah 9:2-5 | We have Seen a Great Light - We will have a few weeks away from the series in Luke over Christmas and the New Year.  In Isaiah 9 today, we saw that we are no longer people walking in the darkness, we have seen the Great Light who God sent into the world at the first Christmas to give us hope now and into eternity.

Luke 9:37-45 | We are Weak but He is Strong - A reminder that sometimes when our circumstances are overwhelming, to not let these things come between us and God, but rather to take our burdens to Jesus - for even though we are weak, He is strong.
