Ariella Zeitlin on The Franciska Show

Listen Later

Ariella Zeitlin-Hoffman has been playing the violin for 20 years and teaching for 10.She have a MA in violin performance from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. She loves performing, creating, playing violin, teaching and recording. She has been flown internationally many times to play and share her music with people all over the world.

Ariella was born in Baltimore, MD and started violin when at around 7. Her grandfather was a well known violinist by the name of Zvi Zeitlin, and he put a lot of effort into helping me become a great musician, and she have been intensely and heavily influenced by him her entire life. While she switched teachers (Amy Drabkin, Mellasenah Edwards, Cassandra Brosvick, and Rebecca Nichols)several times growing up, Ariella always came back to him a few times a year to have a terrifying and productive session which always whipped her into shape when she was getting lazy. But Ariella always loved playing, and her parents, who are hobbyist musicians would have jam parties a few times a year which were always a fun way to learn in a less formal way, and why she has such a great ear for playing and improvising!

When Ariella was 17, I moved to Israel, where she learned with several different teachers until she found her incredible Professor, Michael Gaisler, who led her through a BA and MA and who she is forever indebted to for almost all of her professional violin understanding and experience. He really took Ariella's floaty, musicians personality and did the hard work of shaping her into a real musician. Over the course of her studies, Ariella was awarded many awards, scholarships, and played for many of the most famous names in violining. She also went to the Music Academy of the West in Montecito, California, and attended the Perlman Music Program when they came to Jerusalem, although she got kicked off of that one after a few days for sneaking away to play at an event.

She loves the violin so much. Since she started playing as a little girl, the violin has always been the way that Ariella expressed herself when she had no words, and the violin has always been a tool that Ariella has used to say what she wanted to say. Ariella has been so blessed to play with many famous names, and she is really enjoying the journey. So check out her music, and get in touch!!
