Armed Lutheran Radio

According to YouTuber David Williams, opposing guns is not about pacifism, it's about obeying God. Unlike many of the anti-gun voices we analyze he's not political. He's passionate and sincere…but totally wrong. We'll break it down in Clinging to God and Guns with Pastor Bennett. Plus a self-defense tip from Aaron Israel and Mia Anstine interviews Amy Robbins, the CEO of Alexo Athletica. THIS EPISODE IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY COOK'S HOLSTERS. Prayer of the Week O God, who in the glorious transfiguration of Your only-begotten Son confirmed the mysteries of the faith by the testimony of the fathers and who, in the voice that came from the bright cloud, did in a wonderful manner foreshow the adoption of sons, mercifully make us co-heirs with the King of His glory and bring us to the enjoyment of our inheritance in heaven; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Clinging to God and Guns Pastor Bennett was unable to be with us this week, so Lloyd is tackling this week's article on his own. In a piece for the Religion News Service, freelance journalist Tom Verde tries to suggest that carrying guns in church is supported by neither Scripture nor church tradition. He provides a series of bad historical examples, misinterprets or takes out of context a number of passages of Scripture, and ultimately fails to prove the point.

Prayer of the Week Almighty and everlasting God, Governor of all things in heaven and earth, mercifully hear the supplications of Your people and grant us Your peace in our time; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

In our first episode of 2018 we talk about resolutions, we salute the folks at GunBlog VarietyCast Radio, we get tips from Bill, Aaron, and Mia, and then Lloyd and Pastor Bennett dissect the heretical ramblings of a "woke" Christian who says Christianity is not about prayer, it's about action on gun control, health care, and the environment.
