We're super excited this week as we welcome back the creators of Armstrong Street Scene, Rick Gurrera and Greg Rhoton! We had them on last year as they launched their new podcast "Armstrong Street Scene Power Hour". 

We kick off the show talking about 2021 as it was the return of car shows and the annual Street Scene Car & Custom Bike Show. Hear all about where the guys went last year and when this year's event will be!

This week's episode features Maizee Zaccone from Victim Outreach Intervention Center (VOICe). Maizee is the Outreach & Volunteer Advocate for VOICe and she educates us on everything the organization does.

We start the episode by learning about VOICe being the sole provider of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crime services for Butler County. They provide services to any victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or other crime, recent or past. VOICe also assists family members and friends of those who have been assaulted or abused.

Maizee also shares with us how they provide advocacy services to the community regardless of age, gender, race, color, religion, culture, national origin, sexual orientation, economic status, or the presence of any sensory, mental or physical disability.

Everything VOICe offers and provides is confidential & free to those in need!

We also spend time discussing parts of the VOICe website which Maizee writes the blog articles for the site. She wrote individual episode recaps for two Netflix series, YOU & Maid. Jean Bowen and Tim Kramer from the VITA Program are our guests this week! Jean and Tim teach us all about the IRS's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and how people can take advantage of the free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals.

We learn about Earned Income Tax Credits, Child Tax Credit, and changes for 2022.

Tim shares with us about their volunteers and how you can become one. They give all of the training and tools for you to help assist those filing their taxes.

We're honored to have back our two favorite people from the Butler County Chamber of Commerce, Jordan & Caitlin. They're joining us this week to take part in what has become a yearly tradition of recapping the previous year, an overlook of what's to come in 2022, and we discuss a strategic plan of what the future looks like for the county.

Jordan starts us off with a nice recap of 2021 and how the chamber was able to pivot at times during an unusual year. We're still living in a pandemic and the chamber managed to host most if not all planned events for 2021.

Welcome to our 4th Season of Armstrong In The Loop Podcast. After a few weeks off to end 2021, we have a fantastic episode to kick-off 2022.

This week's episode features Adventures in Training with a Purpose and we're honored to have Caleb & Sarah Kolb as our guests. We start off in the episode to learn about what is ATP, how ATP was started, the different programs offered, and much more.

Adventures in Training with a Purpose has a wonderful mission.  Adventures in Training with a Purpose (ATP) was created to confront health and movement-related issues in vulnerable populations who no longer have the benefit of paid rehabilitation.  ATP is a nonprofit 501c(3) organization with the stated mission of working towards a world where no one is held prisoner to his/her health-related limitations. The first word - Adventure, is intended to encourage participants to embark on an adventure that has no guarantees, but holds the promise that it will be challenging and meaningful. Training is the vessel builds an individual's armor and moves them towards the goal that will combine to create a fulfilling Purpose in life.

We spend a long portion of the show learning about the programs offered for Veterans and first responders. Aurelius, a specialized division of ATP, helps to train Veterans, First Responders, and Active Duty Military to overcome psychological & physical obstacles as well as strengthen their resiliency; while gorging their path to peak performance. Hear all about the amazing things ATP is doing for those that have risked their lives for all of us.

We end the episode by learning more about Caleb & Sarah's story as ATP brought them together and they were married in a spectacular fashion. Hear all about how & where they got married!

Michelle Johnson, Education Outreach Coordinator in Pennsylvania for Impact Teen Drivers, joins our show to talk about Impact Teen Drivers mission.

Impact Teen Drivers has emerged as a leading non-profit organization dedicated to reversing the leading cause of death for teenagers, car crashes. Michelle and her colleagues develop, promote and facilitate evidence-based education and strategies to save lives & reduce injuries or fatalities caused by reckless & distracted driving.

Michelle has made it her personal mission to help inform children and teens to make better choices when it comes to driving. This week's episode features Linda Thoma of the Jean B. Purvis Community Health Center. We learn all about this wonderful Community Health Center located in Butler that serves the uninsured and under-insured for the past 13 years.

They have provided medical care to over 12,000 individuals, provided $4 million dollars in free medication to patients and served over 2,000 patients in dental. They'll begin vision services later in November.  CHC operates on 1 full time employee, 8 part-time employees and many volunteers to help serve those in need!

Linda shares the rich history of Jean B. Purvis and her reason behind starting the Community Health Center. We learn about the partnership that the Butler Health System and other organizations have with the CHC to provide services.
