Today marks four years since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine. At the time L.A.'s Ukrainian American community pulled together to donate supplies to the Ukrainian people, and to welcome and support those who fled to the United States.

Four years later the war continues, with millions of estimated casualties and no end in sight. The Trump administration promised to end the war, but so far there has been little progress made in negotiations with Russia. But the support and solidarity coming from L.A.'s Ukrainian community continues.

More than forty million people across the Northeast United States are under extreme winter alerts. Winter Storm Hernando touched down yesterday. The storm has led to the cancellation of over ten thousand flights and is considered one of the largest storms in recent history.

This morning, the US State Department expanded a "Shelter In Place" travel advisory for Mexico. The advisory follows the Mexican military killing drug lord Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, better known as "El Mencho."

About two-thirds of Mexico was affected by violence following the killing. By this afternoon. Mexican authorities appear to have restored order in many cities. But travel plans are still upended, including to popular tourist destinations such as Cabo and Cancun. Travelers to Tijuana are encouraged not to go. With Spring Break just up ahead, USC students are among those having plans disrupted. Some planned vacations and others have family in Mexico they were hoping to visit.

Have you heard of Punch the baby monkey? The seven-month old baby macaque has won the hearts of viewers all over the world. In videos circulating on X, TikTok, and Facebook, Punch is seen cuddling his stuffed animal for comfort. But why is Punch the monkey so cute? Dr. Ashley Uyeshiro Simon has insight.

The 2026 Winter Olympic games wrapped up yesterday. The U.S finished strong winning 33 medals and making it the 2nd country with the most medals won behind Norway. Despite not being considered a cold state, California was well represented at the games.
