The podcaster intersects many parts of history in a way never seen before

The past few months have brought new developments in the treatment and prevention of HIV. Moderna, one of the companies that developed a covid vaccine, now has an HIV vaccine in human trials. The other big news is that FDA recently approved a long-acting injectable version of HIV treatment medication. And recently, a woman was cured of HIV, only the third person in history to be cured of the disease. Thalia Halloran takes a look at what these changes might mean for clinics and patients.

For the first time last Friday, Amazon workers have voted in favor of unionizing with Amazon Labor Union, a grassroots labor organization of current and previous Amazon workers. This is the first successful union in Amazon's history. Bella Durgin-Johnson  has more on the story.

The year was 1941, Japan had just bombed Pearl Harbor. President Franklin Roosevelt issued an Executive Order requiring the internment of approximately one hundred and twenty thousand Japanese Americans living on the West Coast.

Among them were about one hundred and twenty Japanese American students studying at USC. They were denied their education and forced to leave for the camps. 81 years later this past Friday USC gave late recognition to those students and awarded them honorary degrees. Jocelyn Stone reports.
