Some families avoided or outright banned the discussion of politics over the holiday.

Today the Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity held a special Thanksgiving lunch for USC's Aramark workers, contracted staff who do custodial work around campus. The event at the Ronald Tutor Center included food, entertainment and a great big thank-you to workers who are often overlooked.

The city of Inglewood hosted its 10th annual turkey giveaway this morning at Hollywood Park in partnership with PepsiCo and Don Lee Farms. Over 2,000 turkeys were distributed to community members. Samira Felix has the story.
