Smitty and Tyler are back to talk all things Pittsburgh Penguins! The team has points in 4 straight games, which on the surface doesn't sound all that bad. Then you realize those 4 games were against the Detroit Red Wings (OTL), Columbus Blue Jackets (L), San Jose Sharks (SOW) and Tampa Bay Lightning (OTL). Mike Sullivan's team continues to trend in the wrong direction as they blew their 8th multi-goal lead of the season. We saw Tristan Jarry return to action against the Jackets and it went exactly how you'd expect. Would a coaching change make a difference in either the short or long term? How long is the leash? Smitty and Tyler are back to talk all things Pittsburgh Steelers. On today's episode we discuss the team's win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday. TJ Watt, Cam Heyward, Patrick Queen and company held Jayden Daniels and the Commanders offense in check for the most part. Daniels had by far his least productive game of the season. Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh offense took some time to get going, but once they did, they were able to convert some massive third downs, leading to a game-winning touchdown for newcomer Mike Williams. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. A Russ moon ball, that Williams could just run under. Without Alex Highsmith for a couple weeks, the addition of Preston Smith seems even more massive than we thought. With Lamar Jackson and the Ravens coming to town for yet another tough test, are they up for the challenge? Let's discuss!

They've earned points in 3 straight games, though one of those was a shootout loss in which they blew a 3-1 third period lead to the New York Islanders... Anyway, a big reason they've collected some points as of late is Evgeni Malkin jumping up to play on Sidney Crosby's LW. The reunion of the two-headed monster on a full-time basis has kickstarted Sidney Crosby's season. He has 5 goals over the last week. The question is whether it's sustainable and if they have the depth down the lineup to support that top line? Erik Karlsson has come on strong over the last week as well, posting the highest game score on the team in those 3 games. Alex Nedeljkovic has been, if nothing else a stable presence in net, as the team tries to crawl themselves back into the playoff mix. The team's search for WR help finally came to an end when they acquired WR Mike Williams from the New York Jets in exchange for a 2025 5th-round pick. A player they wanted to meet with in free agency, finally lands with the team. We then discuss the team acquiring OLB Preston Smith from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a 2025 7th-round pick. We talk about where each of these players fit in, how we feel about the value going back the other way and what these moves say to not only the fanbase, but the players on the team as well. Smitty and Tyler talk all things Pittsburgh Penguins. The Pittsburgh Penguins sit at dead last in the Eastern Conference. While we may not have expected them to contend for a Stanley Cup, this is certainly not where we expected the team to be sitting either. The team looks lifeless most nights. They've blown two-goal leads in 3 of their last 5 games and have had leads in 4 of their last 5. Somehow, they've only managed to gain one point in that time. The defense is potentially the worst in the league. Erik Karlsson is a turnover machine, Kris Letang's play has fallen off and Marcus Pettersson's decline from last season has continued. Sidney Crosby's line has been the worst defensive line in hockey. It's been a recipe for disaster all around. The play of Joel Blomqvist and hope he is the guy of the future has been the one potential silver lining to come from this. Is it time for a change behind the bench? Smitty and Tyler are back to talk all things Pittsburgh Steelers. On today's episode we discuss the team's win over the New York Giants. The Steelers broke out their color rush uniforms for Monday Night Football and found a path to victory despite their slow start. The defense struggled to contain the likes of Darius Slayton and Tyrone Tracy but held the Giants to field goals in the first half. Their own offensive drives would stall in the redzone as well though with Broderick Jones taking a penalty, George Pickens not getting two feet down, Van Jefferson not sitting down where Russell Wilson thought he would, etc... Calvin Austin had his breakout performance scoring a punt return TD as well as a receiving TD. Were the performances of he and Van Jefferson enough to tell the Steelers that they don't need to go get another WR? Let's discuss!

It started off well with Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby sharing a night of milestones in a 6-5 OT thriller but has gone downhill since then. 3 straight losses (just one point collected) has left them with more questions than answers. The team doesn't know where to turn in net with Tristan Jarry continuing to struggle, Joel Blomqvist being so green and Alex Nedeljkovic just now returning from injury. Sidney Crosby has just 1 goal through 8 games. Marcus Pettersson appears to be regressing before our very eyes, for a defensive group that very much cannot afford to have that happen. Russell Wilson made his team debut and settled in nicely after a slow start. Unlocking something in the passing game that we hadn't seen with Justin Fields. The exact reason that this move was made. Giving his playmakers such as George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth opportunities to make plays. Najee Harris had another awesome day out of the backfield, creating yards after contact seemingly every touch. Defensively, they had an awesome plan for Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams and company. While TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith didn't get home, the front created uncomfortable pockets and got their hands on the ball at the line of scrimmage. DeShon Elliott continues to be awesome, and Beanie Bishop took the ball away twice, bouncing back in a big way. Let's discuss!
