Guest: Giorgio Cafiero. We talk about the upcoming elections in Libya, scheduled for December 24, 2021. The situation still remains chaotic and uncertain with just a few days left. To quote Giorgio in one of his recent articles:

"Libya is at a delicate point in its history. The deeply fractured and divided North African country has the first round of presidential elections officially set for December 24, yet we do not know if the elections will be held that day. Whether or not elections are held then, and whether the second round and parliamentary elections are held in February will matter significantly. But more importantly, how various domestic and foreign actors act in the period following elections matters even more."

In a bonus episode we talk about the possibility of Libya being integrated into the broader Arab world and to become one of the countries who normalize relations with Israel. We also talk about the main candidates Haftar, Ghaddafi and the interim prime minister Dbeibeh.

Guest: Alex Krainer. After two years of pandemic response, there are new and interesting perspectives and ways to view Theranos through a new lens. We discuss Alex Krainer's three-part article titled Theranos Scandal: The Real Story. In a bonus episode, we talk about how world wars have led to "great resets" in the past and whether our current situation signals that preparations for world changing wars are being made and who the real "empire builders" are.

Alex Krainer has an impressive and multi-faceted background that has positioned him to look at this case with from a new angle. He is a market analyst, researcher, futures trader, investor, author and former hedge fund manager based in Monaco. He was born in Yugoslavia and lived through hyperinflation in the 1980s. He went to university abroad in the United States and Switzerland and then worked in Venezuela where he experienced his first banking crisis when nine of of Venezuela's sixteen largest banks failed and brought the country's economy to a grinding halt. He then returned to his native Croatia and served in the military during the last phases of Croatia's war of independence. From there he moved to Monaco to work in the oil trading business and rose the level of CEO, having built an R & D unit specializing in market analysis, neural networks and artificial intelligence in trading financial and commodities markets. He developed I-System strategies, launched his own high performing investment management business and managed units of other investment firms.

Krainer is also the author of finance related books and professional papers including: "Mastering Uncertainty in Commodities Trading," which was ranked #1 book on FinancialExpert.co.uk list of "The 5 Best Commodities Books for Investors and Traders, He also wrote "Commodity price risk, profits and value creation" and "Alex Krainer's Trend Following Bible." In 2017 he published a book based on his investigation of Bill Browder titled "Great Deception: the Truth About Bill Browder, the Magnitsky Act and anti-Russia Sanctions." The book was targeted by Jonathan Winer, former policy adviser to Secretary of State John Kerry (in the Obama administration) and Amazon deleted his account and reviews. They failed to pay royalties since 2018 but kept the book on the Amazon site at hugely inflated prices (while retaining all proceeds from sales) until just last week when Amazon removed his books from the site without explanation.

Guests: Hosts of the ADVChina YouTube channel and podcast Winston Sterzel (aka Serpentza) and Matthew Tye (aka C-Milk/laowhy86) lived and traveled through most of China for more than a decade. They started a custom motorcycle business and did most of their traveling on those motorcycles and they produced two documentary films.
