Twenty seven OHLers will represent their country with the release of Hockey Canada’s rosters for the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. It is organized by Hockey Canada and is the first major international competition for male hockey players under the age of 17.  Jake Jeffreys and Mike Stubbs talk about the importance of the tournament for young players entering the league, and how scouts use it as a measuring stick as they prepare for upcoming NHL drafts.

With the legalization of cannabis this week, Mike spoke with the Vice President of the OHL Ted Baker about the league’s drug policy, and how they go about making sure the league stays clean.

In another HIGH FIVE segment, the guys look at five things that have caught them off guard to start the season. That includes players, teams, and some eye-popping stats from the first few weeks of the OHL.

Jake and Mike had a chance to speak with Peterborough Petes' forward Liam Kirk, who is the first player born and raised in the United Kingdom to be drafted into the National Hockey League. Liam talks about his experience at Arizona Coyotes' training camp, adjusting to life in Canada, and growing up on the ice in the UK. We also get to the bottom of the pressing issues, which version of he Office he prefers (Don't ever say Jake doesn't ask the hard hitting questions).

Barrett Hayton made his season debut with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds following a lengthy stay with the Arizona Coyotes They guys highlight which other players remain at NHL camps, and the likelihood they will return to the OHL this season.

Mike and Jake talk with the voice of the Saginaw SpiritJoey Battaino about comebacks. Saginaw came back from a six-goal deficit last season, and nearly did the same on the weekend, erasing a five-goal Guelph Storm lead and eventually losing in OT.

Would you like to see hockey start sooner? An earlier start to NHL training camps would mean a better on ice product to start the OHL regular season. Jake and Mike discuss the benefits of the NHL adjusting their schedule, and the positive impact it would have on the OHL as a whole.

The OHL landscape is starting to take shape with Owen Tippett, Nick Suzuki, and Adam Boqvist all making their season debuts. The guys highlight some of the big names back from NHL camps and what that means for the OHL landscape. They also look at some of the eligible OHLers who are sticking around the NHL to start the season.

The OHL’s opening weekend had its fair share of story lines, whether it was a young Erie Otters team scoring a dozen goals against the Flint Firebirds, or the Peterborough Petes picking up a pair of victories.

Jake Jeffrey and Mike Stubbs take a look at some “didn’t see that coming” moments from the opening weekend. They also provide an update on Hamilton Bulldogs Coach David Matsos, who collapsed behind the bench during a game in Barrie and was transported to hospital. Mike speaks with the voice of the Bulldogs Stew Kernan, who was there.

Are the Erie Otters for real? They may have beat Flint 12-1, but does that mean they could be contenders? Victor Fernandes from the Erie Sun-Times joins the guys to talk about what he saw from the team in the opening weekend.

Will Cuylle had a fantastic opening weekend in the league, with the Windsor Spitfires’ rookie scoring his first OHL goal. Mike Stubbs had a chance to catch up with the prospect, and talk about how he’s been adjusting to junior hockey.

The guys also take a look at the European goaltenders playing in the OHL, after the Canadian Hockey League lifted a ban on import goalies for this season.We look at the background of that decision, and how it impacting the league.
