Did you know that there is more to Madrid than Real & Atletico? In fact, this season there are 5 Madrid based teams in La Liga, that's 20% of the league! Madrid is home to smaller teams which are the beating heart of their communities and Rayo Vallecano is perhaps the best example of this.

Nick and producer Amy are heading to the Balkans to see what they can learn about football in Croatia. This small country has consistently been one of the top-performing men's football teams on the international stage since becoming an independent nation in 1991. Their World Cup third-place finish in 1998 and runner-up spot in 2018 are particularly standout moments. But how do they do it?

While in Croatia we visit HNK Rijeka, currently top of the league and trying to break the dominance of Dinamo Zagreb. Oh, and it's a derby game against their most bitter rivals, Hajduk Split, who happen to have the scariest fans ever!

It makes sense to start this series where football began. What can we learn about the true meaning of football at the world's oldest football club, Sheffield FC?

Nick, along with producer Amy and uncle Graeme, make the trip to Dronfield to watch Sheffield FC play AFC Emley in the Northern Premier League Division One East.

We meet with club historian Andy Dixon to learn about the origins of football, we chat with Sheffield FC manager Vill Powell and we see what the fans think about the true meaning of football.

Thank you to Sheffield FC for having us!
