This writing journey physically began in May of 2015. I was writing each week at the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, NC. A podcast grew from the writing. It's been through three name changes due to my journey to not travel to the library but rather to write in my own forest which bares the name Rainbow. The Lyrics from Rainbow Forest. Then I recently saw something that I actually seen everyday for over 30 years. Ernie endlessly looking out at the forest. Therefore there's a new name. These are the lyrics from Ernie's Forest.

Are there hidden words located inside the trunk of a tree. A childish question in so many ways. Yet, you can hear voices of many. Spiritualists describe it as trees having frequencies. If you have ever wondered where an echo goes, how long does it exist in the presence of a collection of trees. What if our voices could be preserved in the trunk of a tree, what would you plant for a future wanderer?

No matter how cold the weather or windy the day there's always going to be last years fall leaves still stuck on this years spring day. The same is true about we who are human. What are we clinging to that we should let go of?

I've always had my eye on how to survive. My father always reminded us to think beyond what we assume. Which is every reason why I study the path of the animals that call this forest home. I learn from the so that I might survive.

A day in the life. A six point whitetail buck visited me not once but twice on the same day. A reminder, a healer, solitude and confusion. What if this were Ukraine, Israel or Gaza? War doesn't love all living things.
