I’m CT… When I’m not
Episode 128 New Guy Bills Bad Week,
This is C.T.C.S.
As part of its partnership with leading youth mental health nonprofit Active Minds, SHOWTIME/ MTV Entertainment Studios will launch a YouTube-based choose-your own-adventure-style interactive video designed to teach young people the new “stop, drop and roll” for emotional support: A.S.K., which stands for Acknowledge, Support and Keep-in-Touch.
The mental health crisis touches every community across the globe and this year’s call to action on Mental Health Action Day is to dedicate time to social connection, whether that's connecting with oneself, participating in a community event, or trying the new A.S.K. digital experience to better learn how to help a friend.
Rachael Terrell is the Senior Director of Social Impact at SHOWTIME/MTV Entertainment Studios, tasked with leading campaigns that leverage the brands’ superpowers for good. Working closely with non-profit partners and experts, Terrell’s team builds impact-driven campaigns that engage, empower and activate audiences. Focusing on mental health and civic engagement, their campaigns have reached millions through initiatives like Mental Health Action Day, The Youth Mental Health Forum, the newly launched A.S.K. campaign, Vote Early Day and Power the Polls. Terrell also advises content creators and creatives on ways to expand representation and develop nuanced, authentic storylines. This work includes developing an award-winning digital resource that shares these insights at scale with creative partners across SHOWTIME/MTV Entertainment Studios and beyond.
The things that keep us young. Discovering new music! So many of us are relying on the oldies to take us back to a past we think we love but complain when the radio DJ says their favorite song is 50 plus years old. Which means you're old. Not when you're locked in on always locating new artists and songs.
After receiving a distressing call from an informant, Federal Agents Aaron Falk and Carmen Cooper head deep into the Giralang Ranges to investigate the whereabouts of their corporate whistle-blower Alice after she mysteriously disappears on a company hiking retreat. The four women who were recovered from the bush each seem to be hiding something about their traumatic experience. As Falk and Cooper close in on the case, they uncover worrying details about the connections between these women and begin to fear for the safety of their missing informant as a storm threatens to halt the search.

How we grow is determined by how much we pour into the activation. We must believe in the purpose. That doesn't mean we can't question. That's where lessons are planted. We must learn to nurture the soil that which brings us joy. The calling is to be real with our hearts and ambitions. To be ready to outreach.
It can be dangerous to be a listener. An emotional sport. Once you make contact with another real person the goal shouldn't be to locate a new BFF. You've captured a moment of time. A place of receiving. Now let it move through you to another person. We've eased up as a generation on our ways to make real people connections. Mainly because there's no more room for a BFF. So we've turned off our reason to just be with someone. It's an interesting world. It's time to listen to it.

Featuring spectacular underwater photography, the third year of the seven-year Changing Planet series explores how scientists from across disciplines are collaborating on projects that offer glimmers of hope for the future of coral reefs. Globally, coral reefs are at a crisis point; warming seas have caused corals to bleach and die at an alarming rate. Five hundred million people worldwide rely on reefs for food and to protect coastlines from storms and rising sea levels. But without action, scientists predict that nearly all reefs could die off in the next few decades.
In the U.S., Florida has the third largest barrier reef in the world, but it has lost an alarming 98% of its coral. But innovative techniques are helping restore coral reefs. From "Coral IVF" to building hybrid, ready-made reefs to using fish vocalizations to lure coral larvae, Dr. Sanjayan can talk about what scientists are doing around the world to improve the fate of corals.
Dr. M. Sanjayan is a conservation scientist and chief executive officer of Conservation International, an organization working primarily in the Global South to secure nature for humanity. Most recently, he was named to the inaugural TIME 100 list of climate leaders, which noted his ability to forge powerful partnerships for environmental protection and restoration. He has hosted more than a dozen award-winning documentaries from PBS, BBC, National Geographic, Discovery, Showtime, and Vox Media.
By choice... We're always waiting for something. The big break at work. The house getting cleaned. Paying the bills on time. Waiting. So how do we break the habit?
