    Thanks for

    being part of the conversation

    I am the

Poet In The Forest.  A children series I
    penned out in the 1990s.

    None of it

would be possible if it wasn’t for this forest in South Charlotte, NC.

    I talk about

it so much that I thought maybe it’s time you get to meet all that inspires
    me.

    Thanks for

  • Mike Sherrard From The Group Deaf Andrews

Conceived in the daydreams of adolescence, Deaf Andrews is more than a

collection of passionate musicians. It is the product of five long-time friends

making music that means something to them, and hopefully anyone else

listening. Consisting of Nick Hayes (Vocals), Mike Sherrard (guitar), Ross

Schumann (bass), Andrew Kingsley (guitar) and Braedon Nelson (drums),

the group has blossomed from their roots, into a unique sonic flower of

    indie pop rock.

From their 2019 single, "Justified" to their debut album "Saturday on

Saturn'', Deaf Andrews has continued to push the limits of their creativity

and emotional tuneness. Making it a priority to capture some of the magic

energy that fuels their live shows, the sound is organic, direct, and

channels the essence of true rock and roll while also exploring the

experimental freedom of modern indie pop. "Saturday On Saturn'' strives to

capture the human element that makes music so special. Focusing on

themes of escapism, mental sanity, and personal relationships, there is

something very genuine about the songwriting on this release because it

borrows from personal experience while also connecting with the audience

    in an infectious way.

Deaf Andrews is based out of Charlotte, NC and is actively booking for

2023. "Saturday On Saturn'' is available on all streaming platforms.

  • Stream Thinking Collecting Baseball Cards And Thoughts

If we collected our thoughts like baseball cards and old concert tickets, would our thoughts make it into a frame for public display? I didn't instantly become a daily writer. I struggled with it for three years! I had to learn how to trust the writing by turning it into a tool. The thoughts we carry with us. So many times they're pretty cool while weighing a little more on the odd side. Yet it those that begin to move the world...

  • Michael Thomas Ford Releases The Book Every Star That Falls Sequel To Suicide Notes

Fifteen years after the release of acclaimed fan-favorite novel Suicide Notes, MICHAEL THOMAS FORD

bring us his much-anticipated sequel in a funny, touching look at what
happens when you give up trying to be someone people want you to be and
    become exactly who you are.

    Jeff

spent forty-five days in the psych ward of a hospital after a suicide
attempt. Now that he’s home and has accepted that he’s gay, he’s ready
to reenter his life feeling stronger and more comfortable being his true
    self than ever before.

    But

it’s hard to come back to an old life when you have a new perspective
on it. Returning to school is complicated, and his mother’s anxiety
isn’t helping. Jeff will also have to figure out how to reconnect with
his best friend, Allie, whose boyfriend he kissed before he went to the
hospital. To make things even more complicated, a fellow patient from
the ward suddenly appears at school, which brings up all kinds of mixed
    emotions for Jeff.

    Luckily,

he’s got new friends from a local community center for queer youths to
help him through it all. And some may turn out to be more than just
    friends…

  • Damion DiMarco And Rev Jim Martin Tower Stories 22nd Year Anniversary

    Anyone

old enough to remember can tell you where they were and what they were
doing the morning of September 11, 2001 , when
two airplanes were flown into the Twin Towers of New York City's World
Trade Center. While preserving the stories in the original edition of
the people who were in New York City on that fateful day and in the days
and months that followed, Damon DiMarco's Tower
Stories: An Oral History of 9/11 offers additional interviews that provide a contemporary perspective on the tragedy.

    "Never

forget" has become part of our lexicon in remembering the tragedy of
9/11. But why do we remember? According to Alice
Greenwald, President and CEO of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, who was
interviewed for the new edition, ".remembrance is essential to moral
conscience.(to) determine what's right and what's wrong. and to ask
ourselves what we are capable of as human beings, both
at our worst and at our best."

    While

confronting unfathomable loss, the individuals featured in the book
speak to the myriad ways by which Americans rose
to meet the challenges presented by 9/11 and its aftermath, honoring
the many heroes that are found within its pages. Some of the stories
preserved from earlier editions feature the small group of people who
miraculously made it safely down from the 89th floor
of Tower 1; the New York Times reporter who desperately fought
her way through the fleeing crowds to get back into Lower Manhattan; the
paramedic who set up a triage area 200 yards from the base of the
Towers before they collapsed; and the bereaved
citizens of New York City who struggled to get on with their lives in
the days and months following the tragic event among dozens of others.

    MSNBC said Tower Stories was

"arguably the most successful attempt at capturing the enormity of the
    events of 9/11.
Damon DiMarco's sprawling oral history (presents) human stories.with a
raw candor a thousand times more affecting than any cold statistic
offered by a commission.a riveting and disarmingly emotional read."

    This

best-selling and critically acclaimed book on 9/11 continues in the
tradition of Studs Terkel, encapsulating a wide
variety of viewpoints from everyday citizens. DiMarco's literary time
capsule offers new insights that benefit from twenty years of reflection
on the world-shattering event, capturing the voices of individuals such
    as:

. Reverend Jim Martin, New York Times bestselling

author and Jesuit priest: "Your interior life, your sense of right
and wrong, can guide you. But very often, we don't pay attention. We
can't forget how parts of our society were impelled to help. But then
other parts were like, 'We're gonna show them.'

  • Scott G Shea Releases The Book All The Leaves Are Brown

    While three of the band's

four members (John Phillips, Michelle Phillips, and Denny Doherty) have
told their side of the story, Shea sorts through the fact, fiction, and
finger-pointing to tell us how the artistic and commercial success
of the Mamas & the Papas was often fueled by the unending
interpersonal drama and sexual liaisons that nearly sunk the group
    before it even started.

    Front and center is the

tragic story of "Mama Cass" Elliot, whose incredible talent gave the
group an iconic sound that set it apart--and who John Phillips never
wanted in the group. Shea draws on new interviews with former bandmates,
session musicians, family members, and many others. A new interview
with Jill Gibson (who briefly replaced Michelle when John discovered
that Michelle was having an affair with Gene Clark of The Byrds) sheds
new light on the group-and a short, but meaningful
London meeting in 1966 between the group and three of the Beatles and
Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.

    Readers of popular music

biographies by Peter Ames Carlin and Jonathan Gould (among others) are
sure to admire Shea's ability to balance his unflinching account of the
band's history with a true understanding and appreciation of their
music. Like Carlin and Gould, Shea tells the story as narrative
nonfiction. We're thrust back into the era of the Mamas & the Papas,
connecting with the emotions of the band members as their story unfolds
and unravels. It's one of the reasons why ALL
THE LEAVES ARE BROWN has already been optioned for film and TV.
