  • Holly From Dead Groove Band Into Infinity

Over the pandemic we started writing and passing ideas back and forth from the US to Lima, Peru. After a few online writing sessions, Holly and Fred flew to Lima, Peru to record two songs with Cesar. When the songs were finished they produced accompanying music and lyric videos which quickly gained attention.
A few months later they signed with Rock Avenue Records USA, and returned to Lima to finish the record. When the record was released in late March '23, they signed with Atomic Music Group (Booking Agency).
Since then they have been playing shows on the West Coast and have plans to play all over the US, while also returning for a tour in Peru at the end of 2023.

  • De Frag Episode Sixty Two We Can Only See Whats Before Us

We can only see whats before us. There are two ways to look at this. Before meaning before you got here there was a story. Before as in something that's standing right there with you in this moment of now. We can only see whats before us, everything else is assumption. Living a mindful lifestyle keeps me away from the pages of history. Yes, I'm a daily writer but I don't go back to pages to live off the moments before this one. Writing is my way of cleansing. Keeping everything before me now in the present and not locked up in a world that's long gone. We can only see whats before us. How are you taking care of your now?

  • Norman Solomon Releases The Book War Made Invisible

    What

we see on television, as well as what we read in newspapers, watch on
YouTube, and hear on the radio, routinely glorifies the military,
obscures the real costs of war, and dehumanizes people the U.S.
government has deemed dangerous or expendable.

In War Made Invisible: How America Hides the Human Toll of Its Military Machine (Hardcover; $27.99; 978-1-62097-791-0; On sale 6/13/2023)

acclaimed journalist and political analyst Norman Solomon takes
American media and political leaders to task for selectively concealing
    tragic consequences of war.

    From

Iraq through Afghanistan and Syria and on to little-known deployments
in a range of countries around the globe, the United States has been at
perpetual war for at least the past two decades. Yet many of these
forays remain still off the radar of average Americans.

    Additionally,

the increased use of high technology, airpower, and remote drones has
put distance between soldiers and the civilians who die. And back at
home, the cloak of invisibility masks massive Pentagon budgets that
receive bipartisan approval even as policymakers struggle to fund the
    domestic agenda.

  • The Daily Mess Give Tomorrow Something To Hold Onto

I don't know anyone else who has been a daily writer for three decades. It's how I breathe. The goal is to remove the stones from the stream. The greatest challenge is learning how to tune out the atmosphere created by others. I can't expect people to sit around silently while I paste thoughts to page. I know other writers but not daily journal writers. I call them expression artists. If I did meet another long term journal writer what would we say face to face or would it be in writing?

  • The Daily Mess Preserving Summertime Memories

Summertime has changed in the way of there being fewer memories. Multiple bloggers have embraced this by sharing their own summertime memories. As a daily writer I'm able to step back and get it as it was happening rather than relying on a rewritten thought or experience. But how can you participate with your own journey? Become part of the future by taking notes of your today. Gift your future with something to cherish. Don't rely on summertime memories. Send your future self a collection of experiences.

Pod Crashing Episode 251 With Tim O’Brien From Crash Coarse

A narrative exploration of what happens when powerful, innovative or

disruptive forces in the business world collide - and what lessons we can learn
    from those collisions.

Whether it's newbie day-traders taking on Wall Street titans in the GameStop

saga, or a staid corporate giant such as AT&T overreaching by going
Hollywood, "Crash Course" will introduce its listeners to the
personalities, compulsions and vivid generational themes that make business
disruption and conflict such fertile ground for storytelling.

Hosted by Opinion columnist Tim O'Brien,

this show will bring sophisticated business reporting to bear on these tales
and tap into the expertise of the Bloomberg newsroom to help lend them
authority. We'd map out interstitial programming that we run as news-of-the-day
installments broadcast in between the longer narratives we produce. But those
dailies should also be tethered to the same themes: power, innovation and
    disruption.

  • Barbara Butcher Releases The Book What The Dead Know

A riveting, deeply personal memoir of more than twenty years of death-scene investigations by New York City death investigator Barbara Butcher.

    Barbara Butcher

was early in her recovery from alcoholism when she found an unexpected
lifeline: a job at the Medical Examiner's Office in New York City. The
second woman ever hired for the role of Death Investigator in Manhattan,
    she was
the first to last more than three months. The work was gritty,
demanding, morbid, and sometimes dangerous - she loved it.

    Butcher (yes, that is her

real name, and she has heard all the jokes) spent day in and day out
investigating double homicides, gruesome suicides, and most
heartbreaking of all, underage rape victims who had also been murdered.
    In What
the Dead Know, she writes with the kind of New York attitude and
bravado you might expect from decades in the field, investigating more
than 5,500 death scenes, 680 of which were homicides. In the opening
chapter, she describes how just from sheer luck
of having her arm in cast, she avoided a boobytrapped suicide. Later in
her career, she describes working the nation's largest mass murder, the
attack on 9/11, where she and her colleagues initially relied on family
    members' descriptions to help distinguish
among the 21,900 body parts of the victims.

This is the fascinating and stunning real-life

story of a woman who, in dealing with death every day, learned
surprising lessons about life-and how some of those lessons saved her
from becoming a statistic herself. Fans of Kathy Reichs,
Patricia Cornwell, and true crime won't be able to put it down.4
