How would your mother describe you? This came to me via a movie quote. I don’t know the answer! There were times she wanted to step in but stayed cleared. She always believed in things working out. Which might be the reason behind my attitude to run into the fire and not away. I can’t find it in my heart to assume my mother’s description. Seeing her children split had to have been hard on her, yet when she and I spoke you’d never know such an emotion existed. I’ll stop and let the universe invite the two of us to meet inside the warmth of meditation.

Manny was a shy kid, but always dreamed of being a performing pop artist. His mother pushed him to be himself and at 12 years old Manny found the confidence to join the dance and step teams at his church where he later began singing as well. Sadly in 2017, his mother passed away from cancer, but Manny used his grief as the push he needed to pursue his music beyond the church. He started singing in wedding bands and even caught the attention of Katy Perry after posting his cover of her song online. Manny currently works as a web platform architect, but comes to "The Voice" to see if he has what it takes to pursue music full-time.

Learning how to put listening ahead of being the lead speaker in a conversation. Having the courage and confidence to say free of being the know it all. My practice mat is being a fan of podcasting. Not as the host but rather the listener. It teaches my reasons to react to hold back. They can’t hear me! Being a listener teaches me more. An outsider’s output doesn’t equal the best input. Too many conversations are brutally injured by the human need to offer an opinion. Now try and go back to the origin of the subject. A lot of progress is lost. The art of listening doesn’t need a battery pack to operate properly.
