Craig C Tha Artist has been making waves in the art world from Houston Texas to London England. We first heard about his skills when he sent in some art for Atlanta’s Mano A Mano Art Shows a few years ago.

Last month we were hanging out in Houston checking out the art scene and Tha Artist gave us a tour of the art community including the local Museums and the weekly drawing session: Skessions.

We sat outside a coffee shop and dug into where The Artist draws inspiration and passion to Keep His Hands Moving!

Art Is King podcast Episode 49

Atlanta has lots of Art Talent. Lots. And if you don’t know about Kamikaze Animated, then you are really missing out on one of the best writing and cleanest artwork webcomic that is gearing up to blow up. Homegrown. Straight out of ATL.
Now you know.

Kamikaze is an animated sci-fi drama & comic set in a desolate world where food is more precious than gold.
In a post-apocalyptic future where feudal corporate houses hoard food and basic resources, a young freerunning courier intent on escaping her city is unwittingly thrown into a life or death game of corporate sabotage from which she may never escape.

An epic science fiction saga, a taut political thriller, and highflying hero tale with an intimate dramatic heart.
The three artists involved in the Kamikaze web-comic, are creators Alan and Carrie Tupper, and their partner Havana Nguyen.

Joseph R Wheeler III
Artist, Fan, Producer, Promoter and Keeper of the Flame that fuels the passion for Art, Comics and the fusion of the African Diaspora. Joseph R Wheeler the third, or as I like to call him, El Tercero

Born and raised in ATL, I first met El Tercero early 2002 when he was selling The Nao’s ashcan comic book: Brutha Yamz. That comic book attracted men because Brutha Yamz character is a wrestler in the Mexican Style of Lucha Libre.
Ever since then, El Tercero has created the OnyxCon convention and brought in the New Art Order to us mere mortals.

Art Is King Podcast 46 - Lord Yatta

I have officially known Lord Yatta for 20 years. I first met him in the basement of a house in Oakhurst in Decatur where he was doing tattoos with SuperMan.

If you know anything about the history of Tattoos in Atlanta, then you will know about SuperMan, his start at West End Tattoo with Julia Alfonso and his eventual spinoff in Decatur GA.

It was at that time that I came across SuperMan and Lord Yatta. The year was 1995.

Two years later Lord Yatta and I along with my brother Yesca, Mecca and Paydreus opened Vantage Pointe Studios in SouthWest Atlanta off Ralph David Abernathy and Cascade Road.

Our paths as artists continues to this day and I recently had the chance to interview Lord Yatta at West End Tattoo where Red Locks is now the owner and 1995 feels like a long time ago.

Check out the Art of Lord Yatta, his tattoos, his fine art and his legacy in the ATL Art Community by visiting his website and social media.

I first met Richard Santiago II ten years ago as we were both working with Marco Blue Johnson of Marcos Pita. If you know anything about ATL, then you will have had a Pita at one of Marcos many locations through the years.

I was building Marcos Pita’s website and Richard was working on an illustration for the websites front page. By then I had seen Richard’s amazing Lettuce Head painting and other Pencil and Acrylic Art hanging in the Pita shop.

Im forever a fan of Richard’s artwork and he’s the kind of artist that likes to see other artists succeed. We have stayed in touch thru the years, and finally we got a chance for Art Is King to share his story.

In this episode of the Art Is King podcast I had the pleasure of interviewing David DoodleSlice Cohen. I first met Doodleslice at Hodgepodge Coffeehouse during his 1000 drawings art exhibit. He literally filled the walls of the gallery with index cards full of drawings. One Thousand of them.

We spent our time talking about his story, the life of the artist and the some tips for artist to make it in the art industry.

In this episode of the Art Is King podcast, we sit down with Marco Noise, aka Marco DeMarco, aka Visual Noise. No matter what you call him, his skills behind the lens are undeniable to the point he has since opened a photography and design studio in ATL since the Art Is King artist interview.

Marco Noise also designs branding for business and he answered the call for logo designs for Art Is King. We received many submissions, and even I had a logo in mind but Marco’s logo was elegant, clean and had that clear impact we were looking for. 4 years later, Art Is King is rocking that logo to this day.
