Did you know that there are more than 40 peer-reviewed studies on the impact of dance on Parkinsonโs? Something changes in our brain when we dance and the improvements envelop many areas of our life. In this episode I will explore the discoveries of David Leventhal, who started introducing dance to a group of six PD suffererers and ended up creating a global program that is benefiting not only patients but their connections. I will also share the results of the study by Jess Bone, Research Fellow in Epidemiology and Statistics at the University College in London. Jess demonstrated that the engagement with the arts help to prevent and slow diseases like dementia; we will also learn about the impact of the arts in the children's ability to express their feelings, and engage in creative writing. I will give you tips on how to improve children's skills and how to introduce them to art, writing, music, singing etc from an early age - but without the pressure of becoming a professional.
The arts have the potential to bring us connection, love, peace, expression and joy - let's make more art in the new year!
