Art of the Mission

Marshal Heingartner sits down with Richard Farris, a chaplain serving with Foursquare Disaster Relief through Living Grace Foursquare Church, to share how a life in business became a calling to carry hope into the hardest places.

From a small act of kindness after an earthquake in Turkey to a child’s recovery on a medical mission in Panama, Richard reflects on showing up, caring for the person in front of him, and trusting God when the answers are beyond his reach. The work begins with a willingness to go; the mission is the person who needs someone to stay.

Marshal Heingartner sits down with Paul Schmitz, founder of ShowerUp, to share how a simple conviction—that everyone deserves a shower and clean clothes—became a mission to restore dignity and carry hope to people experiencing homelessness.

From mobile shower suites on city streets to serving communities after disaster, Paul reflects on building relationships, seeing the person in front of you, and demonstrating God’s love through ordinary acts of care. A hot shower becomes an invitation to shower grace, hope, and love.

Marshal Heingartner sits down with Nate Long, a minister in the Anglican Church in North America and founder of Inhabit, shares his conviction that the church is meant to be woven into the everyday fabric of a place.

As he prepares to pastor Corazón del Cielo in Panama, Nate offers a quiet, rooted vision of what parish-shaped ministry can become.

Marshal Heingartner sits down w/ Russ & Tamara Goodman, a yes people in the Storm.

Two Army veterans — a diesel mechanic who spent fifty years as a prodigal and a mental-health clinician rescued out of her own wreckage at twenty-two — who took retirement and turned it into refirement: a shared calling to carry hope into the wreckage of other people's lives. The bags stay packed; the fifth wheel stays ready; they are a yes people wherever the storm takes them next.
