Publisher's Summary:
There are moments that pry us from complacency, from going through the motions without internal reward or meaning. Dr. Paul Ho, a driven and accomplished cardiologist, experiences one of life's nudges when he suffers a heart attack at the age of 39. Not only is he too young to have a heart attack, but he is ironically a heart doctor being groomed to be his hospital's next chief of cardiology. Bewildered at his serious health condition, Dr. Paul seeks a deeper understanding of his heart beyond his medical knowledge. His search becomes a life journey that leads him to the discovery of what truly matters to the human heart.

I completely enjoyed reading this book
I completely enjoyed reading this book. Dr. Ho elegantly describes the complexities in practicing medicine and the life balances needed for the healthcare professional.
A brilliant and creative read by one of America's top cardiologists
The book is exceptionally well written by a Harvard and Dartmouth medical school graduate. It provides a charming account of practicing medicine in the wilds of Alaska with its amazing Eskimo population. On the other hand, the reader discovers physicians in other parts of rural America are faced with out-of-date practices and bureaucratic roadblocks by an ill-trained and often prejudiced medical establishment. Fascinating reading both for the layman or physician who may be planning to visit or move to rural USA. A five-star read!
I enjoyed this book very much
I enjoyed this book very much. Great biography. He made reading simple, and you don't have to be doctor to understand it. It's a great life story about struggle, love and ambitions with one strong message: to be better then good, is one dangerous game.
Great book, can't it the book down
