I am a night driver
in a city full of sin
I 'll pick you up
when you’re too drunk
and get you back
home again.
I spend time
in the presence
of prostitutes at work
over shadowed
forms of horny men
enjoying perks and twerks
I pick up many

off all their latest date

Imagine your boyhood dog
being with you till you were fifty.

I have lost many
dogs that I cherished
they are buried in
the many backyards
that I lived at and
where I live now.
Their graves are
marked with words
of love and their names.
for they were family to me.
Sometimes they were
my only comfort
Sometimes they were a pain
but they were full of
uncompromising love.
A trait so rare in
all other creatures
including most humans.
Perhaps dogs were
meant to show us all
how to truly love everyone...

we drew near them.

perhaps they are his ambassadors
or just the most loving present
ever given to mankind.
But either way they are

is pressing us down
making us small
it is a huge monkey
on our collective backs
Banging our heads

from what history has dealt us

we pass on our past prejudices
to our children who also pass
them on to their children
like a huge communal torch of hate
that we fail to extinguish
bringing all the anguish
from the past into our homes

can we not shed it

look upon all humans

with a new attitude

to find peace among all men?
From the Ukraine to the U.S.
from every tiny country
all across the earth
and every nation
and then back again

who are daily being birthed
is there a solution that finally
holds true worth?

Putin’s pitiful Politics
while calming all
raging dictators
racists, religious fanatics
and all of the haters?

Can we offer sutures
to our children’s future’s??
long before they have to bleed
give them world where
they will never have to need.

hold memories of futures
realizations yet to come.
That all men’s violence and wars
are at long last finally done

considering

holding on our plates
