Life on the road carries a heavy load,
On another delayed flight
Trying to make it home tonight
So Tired of the endless tours
all the concerts just a blur
I would rather be United
In your arms for love neglected
My trip home was unexpected
The band was pissed at what I texted
When I told them, “ I'm so tired…..
I don't care if I wind up fired
I told our manager that he
Should find a substitute for me
Cause my performance it would be
Nothing our fans would like to see
I am off to turn my solos
into duets with my baby
It's the only move to save me
From the loneliness fame gave me
I be back after I show her
just how much I'm glad to know her
cause without her my life sank lower
Beyond the deepest depths of hell
You all know how I am feeling
Truth be told you'd be revealing
How you too have been forsaking
groupies who love you for the taking
One night stands till you are waking
To emptiness and more heartbreaking
Somewhere, someone waits for you
When your endless touring through
Maybe then you'll realize why
I had to take off on the fly
my only love kept whispering,” Why?
I can't have you here by my side.”
I want to share your love denied
and babe I promise long, sweet rides
Please hurry home and make me smile,
Then you can go back in a while,
Your fans deserve your marvelous style.
So here I am on a late flight
hoping I’ll be back home tonight
Where I will fill you with delight
I love you girl with all my might
I promise I'lll make things all right
