Basking In the Comfort
of An Old Friend.
The sun has always been there,
it warmed my toddler flesh
fresh in the dawn of my life,
when adrenaline coursed through
my veins, as I danced
exuberant in bright meadows.
It brightened my first kiss,
that awkward bumbling attempt
with a red-haired girl
whose lips were even hotter.
It burned like a torch,
when I cremated my mother,
slipping beneath the clouds,
almost in a sign of respect
as I left with her ashes.
It melts my winters
into crocuses, across
the art palette of my earth,
and the artist in me smiles,
as it brushes my shoulders
Soon it will soothe
my arthritic limbs,
like some heavenly sauna.
as I sit, rocking and gazing
at the dust motes,
dancing like the toddler
I once was,,
in the warm beams
of its gleams.
When it cast long
shadows over my
headstone, my bones will settle
with much regret at it's absence

In that
summer that
wasn't anymore
due to the mode of her exit,
in a Ford I could not afford
My love took a back seat
right side for her,
but so wrong for me.
in gut wrenching,
love benching pain
Her name was Janet
she was a magnet
Attracting me to
the love she granted
she was from Pittsburgh
I lived in shits urg
too many miles apart to visit
I was far too young
to make such trips
that my parents would prohibit
so she became a passenger
northbound
her sad face bathed
in the August sun,
time has no rain checks
no refunds it leaves
Summer loves undone
but I'm Happy for
the times we shared
in that long lost summer sun
the taste of her petulant lips,
still fresh on my own,
they still left me breathless
as she headed home
she couldn't look at me
without tears welling up,
in her lovely, sky blue eyes.
so she sat chin down
with tear moistened cheeks
that dampened the Paradise
where we had spent
our summer love
sharing all that we'd
been dreaming of.
And as the tail lights vanished
down that long dirt road
she turned back once
with a sad wave,
and a sweet kiss blown
and then she was gone.
I never saw her again
but sometimes when I am
lost in the vast
extremes of lonely
I am back on that dirt road,
just under the shade of the trees,
that shared our last kiss so tender.
our eyes closed and our hearts aching
for far more than fate could ever comprehend
and I get lost in happy memories

Feelings are revealings
from the outbursts of our thoughts
even when we all were infants
crying got our points across
feelings can be quite breathtaking
every time we`re captivated
When someone steals our heart
to fill it with new love created.
feelings never rest
even when we dream
they're always there to
feed us endless themes
some are welcomed
others make us scream
when a tragedy leaves
us unglued
when loss occurs
bringing disquietude
then the feelings of others
Will help dilute
all the burdens we carry
till our pains removed.
our feelings are essential
and they can be influential
in so many other souls
just by showing that We care
for other people everywhere
until Hatred is controlled
and harmony is finally
extolled forevermore
feelings are quite evidential
on our faces though their mental
they show other folks our moods
and if we all pay attention
to how some feel but don't mention
we can comfort but not intrude.
When God created us out of the dust

in any pub I played
she was beautiful and
wild in so many ways
that most gals don't stray
her carefree spirit
she displayed.
with little inhibitions
and she won my heart
one night when
she climbed up
without permission
on the top of my piano
and Baby it was grand
as I played this song
you're hearing.now
her body took command
and turned my song into
much more than I
had ever planned
as she danced on my piano
with the sheer grace
of a Goddess
and the crowd all gasped
till they quickly grasped
that her moves were
smooth not modest
and no one minded
her misconduct
as she wowed the men
below her and made
every one respondent
while the women
gaped in envy
at the perfect moves
she flaunted.
and the manager
gave me a smile
and he threw me
a high five
and for once in
all the gigs I played
I never felt so much alive
Then the crowd
left their tables
anybody who was able
forgetting the food they ate
leaving drinks behind
with half filled plates
to celebrate and try to imitate
the way she could gyrate
and they set that club to rocking
till the last call came a knocking
and when the show was done
a club owner who had stopped in
from a very well known town,
offered both of us a bigger gig
then I had ever found
and we soon wound up in Vegas
where I was no longer single
Playing Caesars Palace,
the Bellagio, and then
rocking the Flamingo,
It was truly done the Steinway
and I'm happy as can be
that my lady took
a great big dare
and set my future free
bringing her heavenly
love to me
and the rest is history
