On Arvos with Andy, we had the baritone voice of Scott Dann. Scott’s recent chart success with ‘In My Arms Tonight’, He has returned with ‘If I Were You’” a beautifully melodic country ballad about love, regret and the difficult choices that can change a relationship. Although the song was recorded by Elvis Presley, it remains one of the lesser-known treasures from his country's catalogue.

On Arvos with Andy we had Jo Page. Following the success of her heartfelt single She's a Bird, South Australian singer-songwriter Jo Page takes a bold turn into darker territory with Here Lays She That Hated Everyone, the final single before the release of her debut EP, Reckless & Redeemed, arriving on 4th of September. Fuelled by thunderous drums, gritty guitars and unapologetic attitude, the country-rock anthem tells the story of a woman the world wrote off long before she stopped caring what it thought. Equal parts tongue-in-cheek and cautionary tale, the song explores what happens when heartbreak, disappointment and betrayal harden into bitterness.

On Arvos with Andy, we were joined by local singer-songwriter Kemy Ogendi, whose music is deeply shaped by her experiences navigating life between Kenya and Central Australia. For Kemy, music has become a place of solace, connection and self-expression, allowing her to capture the stories, emotions and experiences that have shaped her journey. Her distinctive sound brings together the timeless charm of 1950s ballads with the uplifting energy and spirit of gospel anthems, creating music that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Kemy’s heartfelt songwriting explores life, hope, resilience, relationships and the reality that things don’t always unfold the way we expect. Her latest single, We Don’t Always Get What We Want, is a beautiful reflection on acceptance, perseverance and finding meaning in the unexpected.

On Arvos with Andy, we spoke with Adrian Tomlinson, who painted a picture of how big industry is buying up, locking up and taking from healthy country and local communities in the Barkly region. This collective takeover amounts to economic imperialism on a grand scale, with the benefits appearing to flow overwhelmingly to big business and billionaires, rather than the local people and communities who call the region home.

On Arvos with Andy, we had Alison Mapleson and Rita Tomlins joining us to chat about the music program they are both part of.
The Express to Music Program brings together three experienced mentors—Dan the Underdog, Darcy Davis and Alison Mapleson—with three emerging mentors—David Watts, Rita Tomlins and Jake Turner.
The program focuses on supporting local musicians and helping them grow their voice and develop their performance skills. This can include songwriting, learning to play an instrument, or understanding the theory behind chords, keys and music.
An important focus of the program is “training the trainer”—building the skills and confidence of emerging mentors so they can continue to support and develop other local musicians.

On Arvos with Andy we have Australian hip-hop artist IamSnap or (Shannon Elliott). He has returned with Last Round, a striking new single featuring Lydia Caesar that turns an intensely personal battle with depression and anxiety into a defiant anthem of resilience. Built around the image of anxiety as a devil that refuses to leave, Last Round finds IamSnap confronting that presence head-on. His writing is blunt, vivid and darkly funny, moving through procrastination, self-doubt and creative paralysis before arriving at something far more powerful: the decision to keep fighting. Musically, Last Round matches that emotional journey with scale.
