the numbers for the snap changes dont really work. people dont really take snap unless they cant find a job. if there is a 20 hour a week work requirement, it will be that food stamps wont be available to anyone. sometimes employers cant even offer 20 hours a week. the income limit is 1600 a month. there is a part of the change that says you can opt to volunteer for 80 hours a month to recieve benefits. if the average wage was only 10 an hour, it still would be 80 hours for 300 a month. adding work requirements of 20 hours a week will make someone ineligible because they will earn too much or if they volunteer, they will be a slave basically. forced to volunteer 80 hours a month for 300 dollars. this to me is an example of when the starvation will begin. i didnt read the whole thing but i imagine the income limit is still around 1600 a month. if someone works 20 hours a week they will most likely earn more than 1600 a month. like i said i didnt read the whole thing but it doesnt seem to add up really
i am not sure there is a whole lot of argument for people abusing the snap system because the snap system is pretty diligent about checking peoples income levels.
if anyone is abusing snap, it is people who predominantly get paid under the table
this doesnt take in to account the job market or anything. some people cant get jobs , some cities towns and states dont have jobs some places the wage is much lower, some places it is much higher . some companies can offer part time jobs but they cant offer 20 hours a week. that happens a lot. where employers cant offer 20 hours a week. do you expect everyone to move for a job. if so how will they get there. who will get them a bus ticket.
there is a basic principle in unemployment that people are expected to look for work that is suitable. to qualify for unemployment, they dont expect people to take the next garbage man job or sweeping job just to earn money.
if it were that easy, i think there are people who will become a sweeper just to get a pay check. but. believe it or not. its not that easy.
do you want that girl who lost her job to become the next packager at an aggressively male dominated warehouse? it works for some women but not for most. some women is very few females can work at a warehouse. do you want that banker guy who lost his job to become a sweeper to earn money?
i think this is about some statistic out there that there are 7 million 'able bodied' men who are not working
if that is true it may take more than cutting snap benefits by adding a 20 hour a week work requirement to fix the issue
who are the 7 million men. its supposedly not about females. just men.
where are the 7 million jobs? nowhere. they will be forced to volunteer 80 hours a week for 300 dollars in food benefits
are there 7 million jobs available right now?
its always possible i read the things wrong
this is for entertainment purposes only
