I FOUND HIM! Douglas C Mann! Ok...Bruce Fitzhugh found him. Ok...he's on Facebook so he wasn't exactly hiding. Anyways I am joined by guest host Bruce of Living Sacrifice to speak to the legendary Doug Mann who founded R.E.X Music just after his time in the Coast Guard with $1,200, preceding Tooth And Nail by around seven years. Doug has decided this is his first, last and only interview that he will do concerning R.E.X. so I thank him for letting it unfold on my show. However, as you will hear...it isn't bad blood. I think there was more mystery and drama surrounding it then it deserved. Either way, THIS is the place to hear it and thank you Doug for taking the time. Really fun conversation; Bruce and Doug just run off and hijack the first half! Great Psychoboy studio story.

So yeah. One of my favorite vocalists who sang on my favorite hardcore album. No big deal. Chris Carbonell of the legendary Strongarm tells us all about it. We get it all. How he got started in the very early Florida scene in the band Icthus (I'm sure that's spelled wrong), playing drums with Strongarm and then returning to the band as the vocalist. Get this: Advent was his first vocal performance. Ever. And it gets gross. Enjoy this and he WILL be back on.

For this chapter we are joined by Eric Andersen of The Novelists. Eric was nice enough to sit down having just moved into a new home and wasn't even unpacked yet to keep his commitment to this podcast. The Novelists are a beautiful find from a friend who recommended I listen to their cover of "Africa" by Toto...but once I got started I couldn't stop. I am excited to hopefully introduce this Reno, Nevada gem to those who have never heard of them. We take our time and showcase a lot of music from their new album "Breaking The Script" throughout the entire conversation.

Eric discusses his friendship with legendary Genesis guitarist Darryl Stuermer, what he learned from watching Billy Joel master classes and performing in Cowboy Stadium versus playing in a living room. It isn't always heavy stuff here at ATSG headquarters and The Novelists are proof as to how good it can get.

All in all, Mark Garza is happy with how his life has turned out. The drummer best known for his work with The Famine and Embodyment has become a successful business man, has a family submersed in musical talent and is still involved in producing quite a bit of music. In this second half of his story we discuss how record labels are what they are, his current project called Constant Seas and the slightly different goal that they have, music with his family and feeling accomplished with what he has achieved. This is an uplifting story that I hope is enjoyed as much as it is uncomfortable.
