Why is he unwilling to call Joe out? It's always, "My good friend Joe". He is quick to say he would back Biden and that Biden will beat Trump. At one press conference, Bernie insisted that the differences between Joe and him were minuscule. I don't know what planet Bernie is on, but here on earth Biden and Bernie are practically diametric opposites. Bernie wants to legalize cannabis and expunge the records of those arrested on cannabis charges; Joe Biden does not. Bernie wants healthcare to be a human right; Joe Biden does not. Bernie wants move away from fossil fuels and address climate change through a Green New Deal; Biden does not. I could keep going, but I think the point is made. We need Bernie to step up immediately and be a stronger leader. Otherwise, we will be doing a lot of searching for the newer, tougher Bernie for 2024.

When Nina pushed back, Rosen shouted over her declaring Nina "had no standing" to use MLK's words that way. As shocking as it is to see a white woman attack a black woman for talking about MLK, it's almost predictable once you know who Ms. Rosen really is. She works as a lobbyist for SKD Knickerbocker and helped get tax cuts for billionaires, fight the Obama Administration's nutrition regulations, and helped bust teacher's unions. It's not surprising that someone who spends that much time spinning lies into truths would twist Dr. King's words to suit her purpose. Will Joe Biden do the right thing and disavow this toxic online bullying?

Now, with the moderates dropping like flies to support Biden and the media bump he's seen since winning SC, the Sanders campaign is facing its toughest test yet. Can a well-organized well-funded people's movement overcome the influence of the political elite's propaganda machine? It's going to be tough, but hopefully with Biden under the spotlight voters take notice of the lies he's been telling about his past, of inappropriate touching, and of his inability to speak coherently and turn to Bernie. Time will tell, but the rallying of Democratic insiders to stop Bernie has done a lot of damage to the image of the Democratic Party. They have turned many of us into a Bernie-or-Bust voters because of their open disdain for our movement and the people in it. Let's hope people see through it.

Benjamin Madley joins the show to tell us about his award winning book, American Genocide: The United States and the California Indian Catastrophe, 1846-1873 about the genocide of California’s Indian/Native population. Madley is associate professor of history, University of California, Los Angeles, where he focuses on Native America, the United States, and genocide in world history. He starts off giving a broad overview of some of the evens in California and why he believes what happened should be considered genocide. We talk about what’s at stake if we acknowledge that what happened in the New World was in fact a genocide. Would we owe reparations? Should we return public lands where massacres happened to tribes? We talk about placing the American Genocide alongside atrocities like The Holocaust and The Armenian Genocide. He tells us why genocide matters and breaks down the historical media portrayal of the savage Indian. And we started the episode discussing the passage of the WV Road Bond and the potential for new taxes.
