In today's episode of As Your Soul Prospers, I'm sitting down for an honest, unscripted conversation with my dear friend Ande Summers. I've known Ande my entire life and affectionately call her my second mama. Our conversations often lead us into deeper questions about faith, life, personal growth, and our relationship with God.
This particular conversation wasn't planned or scripted. It was simply two friends talking through some of the questions and experiences we know so many others are navigating, too.
We explore what it means to walk through wilderness seasons, the difference between knowledge and wisdom, and the distinction between simply knowing about God and truly knowing Him.
Because sometimes spiritual growth isn't about acquiring more information. It's about allowing what we know to become something we actually live, experience, and understand.
IN THIS CONVERSATION, WE EXPLORE:
-Navigating wilderness seasons and seasons of uncertainty.
-The tension between where you are and where you want to be.
-The difference between knowledge and wisdom.
-Moving beyond knowing about God to developing a genuine relationship with Him.
-Growing in faith through seasons of waiting, questioning, and personal refinement.
-Recognizing that spiritual maturity is a process.

What if the pressure to look okay is getting in the way of healing? In this episode of the As Your Soul Prospers Podcast, Brittney Burns explores how sadness, grief, anger, and pain can coexist with faith—and why you don’t have to hide what you’re feeling from Jesus.
Inspired by the familiar song “If You’re Happy and You Know It,” Brittney challenges the idea that Christians must always appear cheerful. She shares how shame, perfectionism, and self-protection can make us feel distant from God, and how bringing our honest emotions to Him can open the way to comfort and connection.
In this episode, Brittney reflects on:
Why pretending you’re fine can make grief harder to carry
How to bring pain, doubt, anger, and confusion into prayer
The difference between seeking God’s presence and seeking only what He can provide
A more helpful question to ask when you’re struggling: “What do You want me to know?”
What Brittney learned through a deeply personal prayer-journal entry
If you’re grieving, feeling spiritually weary, or wondering whether God can handle your honest questions, this episode is an invitation to come as you are.
