Several times in worship lately I have seen in the hymns and in the readings the words exalt and exult and I have wondered to myself so what is the difference? And what exactly do these words mean anyway?

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”  - James 1:17

After the shepherds searched for the infant who was lying in a manger and wrapped in swaddling clothes, and after they told everyone who would listen to their amazing story of angles who filled the night sky and had sent them on their journey to Bethlehem, what did they do next? Any guesses?
