Good morning, weather watchers! Let's dive into today's forecast for the beautiful Asheville area.
We've got a Winter Weather Advisory in effect, so bundle up and stay alert. Overnight, expect mostly cloudy skies with temperatures dropping to around 34 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds will be coming from the south southeast at around 9 miles per hour.
Tuesday brings a bit of winter drama. There's a chance of sleet before 7 in the morning, transitioning to rain showers. Patchy fog will play peek-a-boo throughout the day, with temperatures barely climbing to 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds will be dancing between 9 and 11 miles per hour, with gusts up to 20 miles per hour. There's a 60 percent chance of precipitation, but don't worry about significant sleet accumulation.
Tuesday night keeps the wet theme going with showers and more patchy fog. Temperatures will hover around 36 degrees Fahrenheit with light east winds.
Wednesday continues the rainy trend with a high near 43 degrees Fahrenheit and a 100 percent chance of precipitation. Expect between half and three-quarters of an inch of rainfall.
As we move into Thursday, things start to clear up. We'll see a 30 percent chance of morning showers, then partly sunny skies with temperatures climbing to a pleasant 56 degrees Fahrenheit.
Friday looks like a stunner with sunny skies and a high of 52 degrees Fahrenheit.
The weekend brings more moisture. Saturday and Sunday expect showers with temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. Sunday night will get chilly, dropping to around 21 degrees Fahrenheit and feeling blustery.
Washington's Birthday looks like a crisp, sunny day with temperatures reaching 42 degrees Fahrenheit.
