Good morning, weather watchers! I'm your meteorologist with the latest forecast for Asheville, North Carolina.

Hold onto your umbrellas, folks! Tonight we're looking at showers and possible thunderstorms before dawn. Expect patchy fog and temperatures dropping to around 36 degrees. Winds will be softly blowing from the southeast at around 7 miles per hour. We're talking about a 90 percent chance of precipitation, with rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch.

Thursday brings some morning fog that'll clear by 11 am. Expect mostly cloudy skies with temperatures climbing to near 53 degrees. Winds will pick up in the afternoon, potentially gusting up to 26 miles per hour.

Thursday night cools down significantly with partly cloudy skies and temperatures plummeting to around 22 degrees. Those northwest winds will be brisk, potentially reaching 26 miles per hour.

Friday looks sunnier and milder, with temperatures near 50 degrees and light winds shifting to the southeast.

The weekend forecast is wet and wild! Saturday brings showers after 9 am, with temperatures reaching 55 degrees. Saturday night continues the rainy trend with a 100 percent chance of precipitation.

Sunday starts soggy with showers before noon and a high near 57 degrees. Things get chilly Sunday night, with temperatures dropping to a brisk 19 degrees.

Washington's Birthday looks sunny but cool, with temperatures reaching only 41 degrees.

Early next week continues the temperature rollercoaster, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing to around 49 degrees on Tuesday.
