Good morning, weather watchers! This is your weekend weather breakdown for the Asheville area.

Hold onto your hats, because we've got some wild weather headed our way! We're looking at a windy and wet Sunday with a Wind Advisory in effect. Overnight, expect showers rolling in after 5 am, with temperatures dipping to around 49 degrees. Winds will be howling from the south southeast at around 15 miles per hour, with gusts potentially reaching up to 37 miles per hour.

Sunday's forecast is a bit of a rollercoaster. Morning showers and possibly a thunderstorm will greet you before 10 am, with patchy fog hanging around until 8 am. Temperatures will climb to near 56 degrees by 10 am, then dramatically drop to around 42 degrees for the rest of the day. Winds will shift from southwest to northwest, blowing between 11 and 21 miles per hour with gusts up to 39 miles per hour.

Looking ahead, Washington's Birthday will bring mostly sunny skies and a high near 41 degrees. Monday night looks calm, with temperatures falling to around 25 degrees. Tuesday warms up to a pleasant 50 degrees, but Wednesday brings a chance of snow showers with temperatures struggling to reach 38 degrees.

The rest of the week looks chilly, with temperatures hovering in the 30s and dipping into the teens at night. Friday and Saturday offer some sunshine, with temperatures climbing to the low to mid 40s.
