Three lessons for us from this Psalm:

1. "Follow your heart" is not freedom, but judgment

2. God's commands are the pathway to joy, not obstacles to it

3. Have open ears and open mouths

1. Turn to God in your pain (vv.1-2)

2. Think more about God than your trial (vv.11-12)

3. Tell yourself again what God has done (vv.13-18)

4. Trust that God will be faithful again (vv.19-20)

We can trust God:

1. Because He is always true to His Word (vv.4-9)

2. Because He always does what He promises (vv.10-12)

3. Because He always wins (vv.13-17)

4. Because He is always for us (vv.18-19)

Therefore, we will sing for joy! (vv.1-3)

Therefore, we will trust in hope! (vv.20-22)
