Ashley Main from Colorado - Miss Colorado Springs 2022
Ashley Main is a Biochemistry student who has dedicated her life to advocating for animal welfare. After working as a surgery veterinary technician and falling in love with surgery, she decided to set her sights on higher education. After completing her undergraduate degree she plans to pursue a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University followed by a surgical internship and residency.
As Miss Colorado Springs she has partnered with local animal shelters and rescues for events and volunteerism. Her school program “Diesel the Dog” seeks to educate the next generation on appropriate care for our companion animals. In September 2022 her children’s books “Diesel the Dog” and “Diesel Goes to the Vet” will be published and available for purchase. The goal of the first is to help children understand the needs our companion animals have and teach them the basics of care. The second sets its sights on making the doctor a less scary place while demonstrating the importance of both wellness and interventional care. In both Colorado Springs and Washington DC Ashley has worked to further legislation that protects dogs from harmful industries like commercial puppy mill breeding.
Other random facts about Ashley: She has won Office trivia and her frogs are named Dwight and Michael. She is a daredevil & an adrenaline junkie who loves skydiving, bungee jumping, and climbing fourteeners. She’s been kissed on the cheek by a thousand pound grizzly bear named Digger at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
