The World Health Organization, in its 11th revision to the International Classification of Diseases, classifies burnout as an occupational syndrome associated with risks in the work environment. Recognizing this, and the literature demonstrating the need for a systems approach to preventing burnout in the healthcare workforce, proactive steps can be taken to redesign work systems that support and prioritize well-being. Navigating Purposeful Career Growth: Using the FASHP Criteria to Lead Your CPD

As part of their response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Harris Health System leveraged their existing home delivery platform to continue to provide medications to patients in a safe and timely manner. This included filling over 120,000 prescriptions and minimizing exposure to patients and staff by limiting the volume of patients on-site while still providing optimal patient care.  This Management Case Study from the 2020 Midyear Clinical Meeting will also identify the challenges of rapid expansion of home delivery service in an indigent population and discuss the impact of these services on an existing delivery program.
