Asif is originally from Tanzania, raised in an Indian family but when he is 7 years old his Father dies suddenly and Asif finds himself immigrating to Vancouver in Western Canada, adjusting to life without a male role model. Years later Asif finds himself in Toronto stumbling into a career as a "tech worker" embracing the rat race of city living. When his second child arrives he and his partner make the conscious effort to secure a quieter lifestyle in a remote mountain community in Western Canada, so they can embrace a slower pace of life and focus on raising their kids. Asif stumbled into a career as a tech worker but consciously stepped into his role as a Dad. As a thoughtful and engaged Dad it was interesting to hear some of his life experiences as a parent and the incredible story of immigrating to Canada as a young boy with his Indian family from Tanzania and the impact his Mom had on his upbringing.
