Who Do You Think You Are?

Ask anyone what she means when she says ’God’

Listen Later

“Ask anyone what she means when she says ’God’ and chances are that you will learn a lot more about that person than you will learn about God.”

As meditation practices go, they tend to open the door to open-heartedness and a lack of defensiveness. Such practices are a kind of maturity, even if guides and mentors and deep thinkers are still necessary for direction. This thinking demonstrates a maturity of both. It is a thought representative of deep meditation and guided reflection. This idea connects me to Sharon Salzberg’s idea of deep, personal faith as really being about what goes on deep in the privacy of your innermost self, not from holding tightly to rigid and unexamined beliefs.

This podcast focuses on self-exploration and personal identity -- to help you construct who you are, and how you want to feel, think, believe, and behave for yourself. The book Who Do You Think You Are is also available at all major e-retailers, and you can find it at bigselfschool.com/store. Check out our two-hour classes on how to build resiliency, how to discover what you want, how to like yourself more, how to find calm, how to bounce forward after failure, and many more at bigselfschool.com.
