A snarky, Scripture-soaked reality check for the

“But Jesus said He’s a vine! And a door!” crowd.

Some objections to the Eucharist collapse the moment you ask,

“Did you… actually read the context?”

Because every time Jesus uses a metaphor — a real one —

He immediately explains it.

🌿 “I am the vine” → You are the branches

🚪 “I am the door” → If anyone enters through Me

🐑 “I am the shepherd” → I lay down My life

But when He says,

“Eat My Flesh”

and

“Drink My Blood,”

He doesn’t wink, soften, decode, or step in with a parable rescue.

He doubles down until half the crowd leaves…

and then turns to the Twelve like:

“You leaving too?”

That’s not how metaphors work.

That’s how literal teaching works.

Some folks love to say, “Christians have done bad things — therefore the Church is false.”

Right — because sick people inside a hospital mean the hospital failed?

From the very beginning, the Church wasn’t built on spotless heroes.

One of the Twelve betrayed Jesus outright.

Another denied Him three times in public.

The rest scattered when things got dangerous.

If moral failure disqualified the Church,

Christianity would have collapsed before Pentecost.

Yes — there have been bad leaders.

Yes — there have been scandals.

But that isn’t a uniquely religious problem.

It’s a human one.

Power doesn’t magically corrupt what was pure —

the corruptible are often drawn to positions of influence everywhere:

governments, schools, corporations, charities… and churches.

Here’s the part critics always miss:

Despite centuries of sinners,

the faith didn’t change.

The sacraments didn’t disappear.

The teaching didn’t unravel.

Grace kept working — often in spite of its messengers.

The Church was never meant to be a showroom for the flawless.

It’s a place of healing.

A hospital for sinners —

and only at the end of time will it become a mansion for saints.

Christmas was fun.

Four songs, jingles, theology, jingles about theology — all the bells, all the smells.

But today we’re back to the usual program:

apologetics with a bass line

and snark with a side of Scripture.

Because here’s the thing:

Everyone wants “historic Christianity,”

but nobody wants to climb the mountain to find it.

Doctrines that show up around 1500?

That’s not mountain springwater.

That’s runoff.

That’s “I found this in a puddle and built a denomination.”

Truth starts at the summit — with Jesus, the apostles, and the Church they actually left behind.

History runs downhill, and rivers pick up a lot of weird stuff on the way.

If you want Christianity as it was before the pamphlets, before the splinters, before the reinventions…

you don’t go downstream.

You go up.

Back to the source.

🌑✨ “WHEN LIGHT ARRIVES, THE DARKNESS PANICS”

A somber, aching reminder that the Incarnation doesn’t enter a peaceful world — it invades a wounded one.

December 28th is the Feast of the Holy Innocents.

The day we remember that the first to shed blood for Christ were children who never spoke a word.

Herod didn’t slaughter them because they threatened his politics —

he slaughtered them because Christ threatened his kingdom.

The Light arrives, and darkness lashes out in panic.

Matthew doesn’t sugarcoat it.

It’s the raw truth of the Incarnation:

God becomes man, and hell immediately starts swinging.

“A voice was heard in Ramah… Rachel weeping for her children…” — Matthew 2:18

The smallest ones — unnamed, unarmed, unprepared —

become the first martyrs of the New Covenant,

the first to bear witness by their blood

that the King has entered the world.

And yes — the shadow still hunts the innocent.

The names change. The justifications change.

But the cry of the children echoes across ages,

and the King who once fled to Egypt

hears every one of them.

This track sits in that tension:

👑 a Kingdom that advances through weakness

🔥 and a Light that terrifies the darkness

because it cannot stop Him.

Every December 27th the same thing happens:

Today is Day Three of Christmas, the Feast of St. John the Beloved — the apostle who didn’t just describe the Incarnation, but declared it a cosmic invasion of Light:

“The light shines in the darkness,

and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5

That’s not cozy sentimentality.

That’s military language.

The Gospel — Evangelium (eh-vahn-JEL-ee-um) — is literally a royal battle proclamation:

“Good news: the King has won. Submit joyfully.”

🎄✨ “Wait — It’s Still Christmas”

A jingly, good-humored reminder that December 26th is not “the end.”

It’s literally Day Two.

Every year, like clockwork, the same post-Christmas panic erupts:

Lights off.

Ornaments boxed.

Carols replaced with gym ads.

Trees on life support (or already in the garage).

But here’s the thing nobody rushing into “back-to-normal” seems to realize:

👉 Christmas is twelve days long.

👉 We are barely getting started.

👉 Epiphany is still miles down the road.

The Church doesn’t slam the door shut on the 25th—

she opens it.

Day after day after day of feasting, rejoicing, lingering in the glow of the Incarnation.

That’s what this track celebrates:

🎄✨ “Prophecies in the Straw” — A Christmas Morning Proclamation in Song

A joyful, Scripture-soaked reminder that the Child in the manger is the fulfillment of every ancient hope.

From the moment the star rose over Bethlehem, the quiet straw of a feed-trough became the meeting place of centuries of prophecy and the God who keeps His promises.

Micah said the Ruler would come from Bethlehem (Mic 5:2).

Isaiah foretold a Virgin who would bear God-With-Us (Isa 7:14) and a Child called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace (Isa 9:6).

Daniel counted the very timeline (Dan 9:24–26).

Isaiah promised a Messiah who would open blind eyes and heal the broken (Isa 35:4–5).

David sang of One whose hands and feet would be pierced (Ps 22) and whose body would not see corruption (Ps 16).

Zechariah foretold a King who would come humble, and later be looked upon by those who pierced Him (Zech 9:9; 12:10).

Psalm 110 declared the exalted Lord at God’s right hand.

And on Christmas morning, every one of these ancient threads converges in a newborn Child wrapped in swaddling cloth and laid in a manger.

That’s what this song celebrates.

For some reason, it’s still fashionable to say:

“The Catholic Church discourages people from reading the Bible.”

Which is impressive… because it’s wrong at literally every level.

St. Jerome — the man who translated the Bible for the Western Church — said:

“Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.”

At every single Mass, Catholics hear Scripture proclaimed aloud — and when the Gospel is read, we stand, because Christ Himself is speaking.

The Church didn’t hide the Bible.

She canonized it, translated it, preserved it, proclaimed it, and even offers an indulgence for reading it prayerfully.

Oh — and if you think Catholics don’t read Scripture, someone should probably tell Fr. Mike Schmitz, who walked millions of people through the entire Bible in a year… on purpose… out loud… online.

This song exists because bad history keeps getting repeated loudly.

And sometimes the response needs a beat, a hook, and a little snark.

The humor exposes the ridiculousness of theological fragmentation,

the endless multiplying labels,

and the instinct to excommunicate each other

over distinctions too small to see without a microscope and a headache.
